Pune, 22nd August 2024: On behalf of Pune Zilla Parishad, a campaign was conducted in July to survey out-of-school children. It was found that around 507 children were out of school. Of these, 281 children have been admitted to school. Primary Education Officer of Pune Zilla Parishad Sanjay Naikade informed that efforts are ongoing to bring the remaining children into the educational system.
The government has implemented various initiatives to reintegrate children who have fallen out of the mainstream and prevent educational loss. As part of this, a survey campaign was conducted by the Zilla Parishad in July. The survey revealed that 310 boys and girls from 13 talukas of Pune district, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) area had migrated or left.
Additionally, 507 boys and girls had migrated to Pune from other states and districts. The Education Department of the Pune Zilla Parishad surveyed from 5th to 20th July to address educational irregularities and integrate out-of-school or migrant children into the education system. According to the data released by the Education Department, 281 out-of-school children in Pune district have been successfully reintegrated into education.
Efforts continue to bring the remaining 226 out-of-school children into the educational system. The locations of these children are constantly changing, but the Education Department is actively working to bring them to school, Sanjay Naikade said.
