Against All Odds: Auto-Rickshaw Driver’s Daughter Finally Conquers NEET-UG After Three Attempts

Driven by her desire to serve her village, where medical facilities are scarce and many cannot afford treatment, Ruby overcame numerous obstacles. Her motivation was deeply personal; she wanted to address the healthcare needs of her community, inspired by her own experiences. Ruby’s younger brother passed away nine years ago, and she herself battled tuberculosis twice, which fueled her determination to become a pillar of strength for her family.

Apart from her medical studies, Ruby has also made a name for herself as a YouTuber. With nearly 15,000 subscribers, she shares her experiences and tips on passing the NEET UG exam, alongside vlogs about her daily life. Her online presence began after she recovered from tuberculosis in 2018 and started preparing for the NEET UG. After four attempts, Ruby succeeded in 2023 with a score of 635.

Ruby’s early education was completed in a government school, and her initial challenge was affording coaching fees. Her uncle’s financial support was crucial, providing her with the opportunity to attend a coaching institute. Reflecting on her journey, Ruby said, “I struggled at first and felt discouraged. After four attempts, I finally cleared the entrance exam. It wasn’t easy, and there were times I wanted to give up, but I refused to quit. I found videos from Physics Wallah on YouTube and joined their NEET UG crash course. Staying strong and working hard helped me push through and do my best.”

While preparing for NEET UG, Ruby also taught students in her village to manage her expenses. “Since our village doesn’t have coaching centers, I began offering tuition to students who were eager to study but lacked proper support. I still teach and have always found great happiness in helping others,” she added.

Ruby’s story is not just about overcoming personal and financial barriers but also about her commitment to her community. Her journey from a small village to a medical student in Delhi underscores her resilience and dedication to both her career and her village.
