How do I set up an ALDImobile service?

You may place an order for any of our Starter Packs via our website, or you can go to any ALDI location near you to purchase a $5, $15, or $25 Mobile Plan Starter Pack. Our whole selection of Starter Packs is also available for purchase online.

A pay-as-you-go (PAYG) beginning pack is all you need to get connected, and you can always upgrade to a paid plan at a later time if you change your mind about which plan to go with.

Either keep the same cellphone number you have now or acquire a new one.

Check with your current mobile service provider to ensure that you won’t be subject to any additional costs or penalties if you switch to ALDImobile and carry your existing mobile number with you.

In order to organise the transfer, we need require the account number that is associated with your post-paid or contracted plan.

Putting your brand-new service into effect.

Before getting started, make sure:

You may verify your identity using either your driver’s licence, your passport, or your Medicare card.

That your phone is close at hand if you intend to transfer your number, since we’ll be needing it later.

You will get an authorization code through text message to confirm that you are the rightful owner of the phone number.

When you are ready to get started:

Head to aldimobile.com.au/activate

Choose the option that says “New Service, new client.”

To activate your Starter Pack, enter the activation code included inside.

Follow the straightforward steps provided online.

In order to get started with the activation of your Mobile, Data, or Family Plan Starter Pack:

Step 4 consists of selecting “I have a voucher” from the dropdown menu labelled “Recharge Option” and then entering the voucher code that was included with your Starter Pack.

Activation of the PAYG Starter Pack costs $5.

Choose whether you would like to add extra PAYG credit or a plan to your service, and then choose “Pay with credit card or PayPal.”

Can I transfer/port my existing number to ALDImobile?

The process of transferring your current number to ALDImobile is a simple one.

You will be required to submit the name of your existing mobile phone service provider, your account number for a post-paid or contract account, as well as the date of birth that is associated with the account when you activate one of our mobile phone plans that offers exceptional value.

We will send a one-of-a-kind code to the mobile phone number that you are transferring in order to verify that you are the owner of that number. You will be required to input this code into our website during the activation process in order to provide permission for the number to be transferred. This is a prerequisite for complying with the law.

How long does it take?

It is possible that it will take up to two full working days to finish, although the vast majority of ports are closed on the same day, and usually within a few hours.

Because porting hours are observed, it is possible that the transfer may take more time to finish if you activate your device on a weekend.

On the day when your number is scheduled to be switched to a new provider, the functionality of your existing SIM card from your prior carrier will be terminated. In the event that this occurs, you will need to enter your new SIM card into your phone and then wait for it to begin functioning. This might take anything from half an hour to two hours to complete.

Important things to keep in mind:

Before the day you transfer your number, go through your previous phone and write down or save any critical text messages or voicemails that are on there. Alternatively, you may save them using the backup tools that are provided on your website.

If you are currently subscribed to a post-paid plan, you are responsible for confirming with your current service provider whether or not transferring out would subject you to any exit or termination penalties.

If your phone number has been disconnected, you will not be able to transfer it to another carrier. Be sure to inform your existing provider that the number is NOT to be disconnected before or during the porting process.

You will be need to be able to send and receive text messages to the number you are switching from.

What are porting/number transfer hours?

These are the hours during which mobile service providers are required to handle mobile port requests; these requirements apply to all mobile providers throughout the sector.

The hours of operation for porting are from 8 am to 8 pm (AEST) Monday through Friday, and from 10 am to 6 pm Saturdays (AEST).

A mobile service provider is not required to process a port request on Sundays or the majority of national public holidays; nevertheless, certain port requests may still be completed outside of the typical porting hours.

Porting does not occur on Sundays or the majority of national public holidays.

We are unable to provide an assurance as to whether or not your port will take place.

You should only place an order to port your number to ALDImobile when you are ready for your service to migrate over since it is highly likely that a mobile port that is filed outside of these hours might still be executed.
