Despite her rigorous schedule, which often involved working 48 to 60 hours per week in demanding environments like pediatric oncology and neuro trauma ICU, Hamsavardhini managed to find time to prepare for her postgraduate entrance exams. “The bond service was intense, but the two days off each week allowed me to study and prepare effectively,” she explained.

Looking forward, Hamsavardhini is keen on pursuing a specialization in internal medicine at CMC. She is particularly drawn to haematology and believes that a postgraduate degree in internal medicine will offer her a broad scope to treat various conditions. Her interest in medicine was deeply personal, driven by the loss of her grandmother to a heart condition that was not diagnosed in time.

Interestingly, Hamsavardhini’s journey into medicine is complemented by her passion for Bharatanatyam, which she has been pursuing alongside her medical studies. Beginning her dance training at age six under her mother’s guidance, she has integrated dance into her life, finding that it enhances her physical endurance, focus, and creativity. She believes that both dance and medicine require a deep understanding of human anatomy and discipline, which makes them complementary pursuits.

As Hamsavardhini prepares to complete her bond service and embark on her postgraduate studies, she remains committed to balancing her dual passions for medicine and dance, both of which have shaped her disciplined and holistic approach to life.
