Hungry for success – Humbaa
A lot of the times I get people asking me, “can you give me advice on how to study? I try sometimes but I am usually unmotivated.” It seems we’re all looking for the secret, the one trick or heck that will lead us to success. The problem is, we all want to succeed but don’t want to put in the hard work. We want to gain, but don’t want to go through the pain, we want to pass our exams, but don’t want to stay up hours and study.

The first and most important thing I would tell anyone finding answers to these questions is to set daily meaningful goals. Always start your day asking yourself these questions, “What can I do today that will take me closer to the future I dream about? Where can I improve today?” Write these things down.
If it is the weight you want to lose, hit the gym, go for a jog, check what you eat. If it is a skill you want to learn, read books, watch videos on Youtube, visit Wikihow. Alternatively, you can ask a friend who has the knowledge to teach or assist you. All I’m saying is, make sure every single day, you’re learning something new.
Before you go to bed, ask yourself “What new thing did I learn today? Where did I improve and where can I improve on tomorrow?”
Hungry For Success
If you are really hungry for success, to evolve and become the best version of yourself, that desire will drive you. If you really have the desire and want to succeed so bad, you won’t spend the whole day playing video games, you won’t waste the entire day on your phone, texting, tweeting and jumping on every new TikTok challenge. The desire will push you to do whatever it takes, learn whatever you need to learn, stay up deep in the night and sacrifice hours of sleep just to achieve whatever great thing you’ve set yourself out to achieve.

One more thing, if you do not succeed the first time, try again and again and again. Rest if you need to rest, but don’t quit until you succeed. When you’re building a house and a nail breaks, do you stop building or you change the nail? I guess you will change the nail, so in your journey to achieving whatever goal you want to achieve, when you encounter setbacks, don’t say “I have given up!” NO! If a plan doesn’t work, change the approach, not the goal. Stay long enough with your problems and be consistent with whatever you’re doing, always finding new ways of doing things.
Remember, just because it took you longer than others doesn’t mean you failed. We have our own clock and time to travel our own distance at our own pace. So don’t be rushed by the timelines of others. It’s theirs, not yours. Focus on your path and don’t lose sight of your goals, and you will surely succeed.
Remember to set goals for your life, work hard, and most importantly, work smart, be consistent and great things will surely happen.
