Earlier this year, Bajaj Auto launched the Freedom 125, the world’s first CNG-powered bike, priced between Rs 95,000 and Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The Freedom 125 offers a range of 200 km on CNG and 130 km on petrol, combining for a total range of 330 km. With around 13,000 units already booked, it has generated significant interest.

In addition to the new 100cc model, Bajaj Auto is also working on expanding its electric vehicle lineup. Rajiv Bajaj, the company’s CEO, has revealed plans for a new platform for the Chetak electric scooter. This platform will introduce both budget-friendly and premium models, set to launch early next financial year. The Chetak, which holds an 18% market share, is positioned to compete strongly with TVS’s iQube.

Bajaj Auto is also exploring ethanol-powered two and three-wheelers, with a showcase planned for next month. The company, which exports nearly half of its production, aims to lead the 125cc segment within the next year. Currently, clean vehicles contribute about 25% to its revenue, reflecting the company’s strong commitment to sustainable transportation.
