CBI Nabs Agriculture Ministry Officer in Nashik Over Rs 1 Lakh Bribe for AGMARK License


Pune/Nashik, 3rd September 2024: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the accused Sr. Marketing Officer of Directorate of Marketing & Inspection (M/o Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Govt of India), Nashik Sub-office (Maharashtra) while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. one lakh from the complainant.

Name of the accused :

I. Vishal Talwadkar, Sr. Marketing Officer, Directorate of Marketing and
Inspection, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (Govt of India),
Sub-office, Nashik (ARRESTED)

II. Guljar Sonawane, Marketing Officer, Directorate of Marketing and
Inspection, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (Govt of India),
Sub-office, Nashik

A case was registered by CBI on a complaint against two accused including Sr. Marketing Officer and Marketing Officer, Directorate of Marketing and Inspection, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Sub-office Nashik on allegations that accused demanded undue advantage of Rs. One lakh from the complainant for issuing AGMARK License for ‘Govardhan Ghee’ brand of his company.

CBI laid a trap and caught accused Sr. Marketing Officer red-handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. One lakh from the complainant. The said Sr. Marketing Officer was arrested and produced before Hon’ble Spl Judge, CBI Cases, Nashik. The court has granted his Police Custody to CBI  till 05.09.2024.

Searches were conducted at the residential and office premises of the accused which resulted in recovery of incriminating documents.

Investigation is continuing.
