In addition to launching the Civil Court-Swargate section, the deputy chief minister said Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the Swargate to Katraj Metro extension.
While the exact details of the program are still being finalized, sources mentioned that the Prime Minister may travel on the Metro between Civil Court and Swargate, as he did during the inauguration of the Garware College section.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is expected to release a detailed schedule of Modi’s visit soon. Civic and district authorities have already begun preparatory meetings for the visit, with speculation that the PM might address a gathering in central Pune following the Metro inauguration.
During an event in Pune, Fadnavis remarked that Metro services in the city are expanding rapidly, with government support facilitating the growth. On the immersion day of Ganeshotsav, over 3.46 lakh commuters used the Metro.
Ahead of Modi’s visit, two more Metro extensions Vanaz to Chandni Chowk and Ramwadi to Wagholi are likely to receive final approval.
