Shirur, 22nd August 2024: Two two-wheelers collided fatally on Pune-Ahmednagar Road. In the accident, one person died while the other was seriously injured. The injured individual is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. The collision occurred when one bike attempted to cross the road, and the other bike, coming from Pune, was unable to stop in time and collided with the bike crossing from the side. The incident happened on Tuesday (20th August) near Karegaon at Phalke Mala Chowk.

The deceased has been identified as Sandeep Namdev Gadilkar (age 35, resident of Shindodi, Shirur). Dattatraya Dhumal sustained injuries in the incident. Vishal Gadilkar, a relative of Sandeep, has filed a complaint against the unknown driver at Ranjangaon Police Station.

According to police reports, the unknown driver was travelling towards Kardelwadi and was crossing the road when the collision occurred. The unknown driver attempted to cross without indicating, endangering both himself and others on the busy Pune-Ahmednagar Highway. Sandeep was coming from the Pune side, with Dattatraya seated behind him. Unable to control their vehicles, the two bikes collided at high speed. Sandeep died at the scene, while Dattatraya, who suffered serious head and body injuries, has been hospitalized. A video of the incident has gone viral.
