By 5:30 am, boarding commenced, but the aircraft only taxied to the runway before returning to the parking bay around 6:40 am. Passengers were not allowed to deboard. Around 8 am, refreshments were served, and shortly after, the airline announced the flight’s cancellation.
The delay and eventual cancellation were attributed to a technical issue detected in the aircraft, which caused the crew’s duty time to exceed limits, forcing the cancellation.
Many passengers spent almost 13 hours at the airport, as the refund process was slow, with some not leaving until 11 am.
Vistara’s spokesperson expressed regret for the inconvenience, emphasising the airline’s commitment to customer safety and efforts to provide refreshments, alternative flights, and refunds.
