Switching to the beta version of Battle.net will resolve the “Player is in a different version of Overwatch” issue in Overwatch 2.
Launch Battle.net, then go to the logo, then Settings, then Beta, then click the Switch to Beta button.
The commands “/invite (their http://Battle.net tag)” and “/join (their http://Battle.net tag)” may also be used to invite and join a group.
Having made the transition to beta, you must now restart the client and run Overwatch 2 once again.
Here’s how to access Battle.net’s test server:
- Exit Overwatch 2.
- Launch Battle.net.
- Click on the Battle.net logo.
- Select “Settings”.
- Select “Beta”.
- Click on the “Switch to Beta” button.
The client will restart after you click the “Switch to Beta” button.
Finally, start up Overwatch 2 to compete against your pals.
