A couple has made headlines by spending 5.5 lakh rupees for a single night at a luxurious resort, and the story has quickly gone viral.

Anirban Chowdhury, hailing from India, shared their extraordinary experience at a high-end resort in Maasai Mara, Kenya, on social media. Through a series of captivating posts on X, he detailed their extravagant trip.

Even after redeeming Marriott Bonvoy points, the cost of their stay reached a staggering 5.5 lakh rupees per night, taxes included.

Chowdhury, a self-proclaimed credit card enthusiast, recounted the story of his lavish getaway, carefully outlining every detail of the experience. He documented his entire adventure through his posts, providing an insight into their luxurious journey.

The couple opted for an all-inclusive package that encompassed accommodations, meals, premium beverages, and a range of high-end services, including bush dining experiences, sundowner outings, and daily wildlife excursions.

The JW Marriott Masai Mara presents a remarkable and luxurious safari experience. Located in the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve, the resort boasts 22 tented suites that offer stunning views of the tranquil Talek River. It is conveniently situated approximately 30 to 40 minutes by car from Keekorok Airstrip.

“So, we booked the JW Marriott Masai Mara using 106,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night for two. And let me tell you, I’d even pay 200k points for this experience! It’s all-inclusive, so unless you opt for paid activities, your out-of-pocket cost will be pretty much zero. The experience is worth every point,” says Chowdhury.

Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a stunning traditional Masai dance and treated to a refreshing rosemary hibiscus beverage at the Fig Tree Lounge.

The online feedback to the post has been a mix of astonishment and skepticism. One user remarked I’ve never encountered anything like this, and what an incredible experience! However, the price is staggering. It truly seems like a dream getaway. If I had the points, I would certainly think about it.

Yet another interesting comment is “ Unable to wrap my head around the kind of wealth people have. I think I’m fairly rich and I am, by any reasonable standard. So I was like nice let’s check this place out and it costs 3.5 lakhs for one night. Almost 10 lakhs for a 3-day stay. What kind of money do folks earn?
