Recruitment vendors working with Infosys, who requested anonymity, noted that the revised process is intended to minimize recruitment fraud while making it slightly more challenging for candidates to engage in “window shopping” or negotiating with competing employers.
On its career website, Infosys has posted a prominent notice stating, “Important notice: Infosys offer letters and associated documents are available only on our career site. Candidates can access this using their login credentials. We no longer send emails with attached offer letters. You can always validate your offer letter when in doubt by following this link – https://career.infosys.com/offerValidation.”
According to Infosys’ Form 20F submitted to the US Securities and Exchange Commission, the company received an astonishing 2,436,929 job applications in fiscal year 2024. From this pool, 194,367 candidates were interviewed, and 26,975 were offered jobs, with the filing clarifying that these figures do not include subsidiaries.
Infosys has also warned of rising instances of recruitment fraud on its career website, where scammers have been posting fake job openings and contacting job seekers with fraudulent offers. Industry experts have raised concerns that hiring unsuitable or uncommitted candidates could disrupt service delivery, adversely affecting client satisfaction and productivity. They highlighted that virtual hiring during the pandemic led many IT companies to discover that unsuitable candidates had received offer letters, with some using them to explore opportunities with other employers.
In addition to combating recruitment fraud, Infosys’ recent changes support its sustainability initiatives. The company is focused on transforming its workplace, implementing new design principles that accommodate the evolving work environment. Infosys stated in its FY24 ESG report, “Our new design prioritizes health and wellbeing, productivity, social connection, and inclusiveness, while also ensuring environmental sustainability.”
The company remains committed to being a well-governed and environmentally sustainable organization that promotes diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
