Last time on jujutsu Kaisen Episode 16
Panda and Nobara were about to apprehend one of the Member of Kyoto school team who servers as a scout for the Kyoto team but Mechamaru, another combat-oriented member of Kyoto school attacks Panda from behind and said that Panda won’t wake up and engages in battle with Mechamaru and defeats Mechamaru with his Gorilla mode.
Jujutsu kaisen Episode 17 synopsis:
Episode starts with Maki and Kasumi continuing their battle. Kasumi found it hard to reach Maki who was using a long wooden Spear giving her a wider range of offense and not giving away any openings to the opponent.
During the battle, Kasumi remembers that Mai told her that Maki is fourth-grade jujutsu sorcerer and even lacks the ability to see Cursed spirits and she isn’t that strong but while battling Maki, it proved to Kasumi that Maki is way stronger than fourth-grade Jujutsu Sorcerer and can easily defeat second grade cursed spirits and so Maki wins the battle. Maki is still at fourth grade.
During battle Kasumi remembers that Mai told her that Maki is fourth-grade jujutsu sorcerer and even lacks the ability to see Cursed spirits and she isn’t that strong but while battling Maki, it proved to Kasumi that Maki is way stronger than fourth-grade Jujutsu Sorcerer and can easily defeat second grade cursed spirits and so Maki wins the battle. Maki is still at fourth grade because the Zenin clan which she hails from is one of the three major clans in Jujutsu Tech and since Maki wasn’t born with the ability to see Cursed spirits she couldn’t have been a jujutsu sorcerer and in Zenin clan, being born without Cursed energy is same as to die and a woman can’t be on front line, these factors kept Maki advancing to upper grade.
Meanwhile, Nobara who was a first-year Tokyo student was battling 3rd year Kyoto student Momo.
In starting Nobara couldn’t hit Momo with the Nails which she enhanced with her Cursed energy which made Momo confident that Nobara isn’t that skilled and hit Nobara in her face with the broom and Momo started blabbering about how a woman as jujutsu sorcerer should live her life and a woman should be both cute and strong so that they are not undervalued but Nobara told Momo to Stop her nonsense blabbering and the nails which Nobara threw earlier in all directions were done on purpose and all the nails scattered in that area started hitting Momo and she fell on the ground.
Nobara tries to finish Momo out by only knocking her out with a squeaky hammer because the real hammer could kill Momo but Nobara who was about to hit Momo second time was shot in the head by a rubber bullet by Mai who was hiding a bit away in the trees.
At the same time Maki arrived and a battle between Maki and Mai, the twins was about to start. A flashback when Mai and Maki were kids was shown where Mai who was afraid to cross the street because of a Cursed spirit sitting on the street but since Maki couldn’t see Curses she didn’t fear them and helped Mai to Cross the street.
Later when they become a little older, Maki decides to leave the village and tells the head of the clan that one day she will come back to claim the position of head of the clan. In the battle Mai says that similar to Mechamaru, Maki also gained super physical strength and endurance in exchange for lack of ability to see Cursed spirits.
While In the battle Mai was using a pistol through which she could fire bullets enhanced with Cursed enrgy but even after firing 6 rounds she couldn’t hit Maki who could move faster than bullet and after the sixth shot Maki made sure that she wouldn’t let her Mai reload but one more bullet was fired which surprised Maki and it was revealed that Mai has the ability to conjure a object from Cursed energy at this time she could only manage to conjure one bullet in a day but the Maki caught the seventh bullet with her bare hands and Mai got defeated by Maki
After losing Mai cried that she never wanted to become a jujutsu sorcerer but was forced by the thought, that if her twin sister is going to become stronger then she also must otherwise all other clan members would laugh at her and this ordeal made Mai hate her own twin sister, replying to Mai, Maki said that she would have hated herself if she didn’t decided to become a jujutsu sorcerer.

Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 18 ‘Sage’ is scheduled to release on February 13 in Japan and depending on your location it could be Friday 10:45 am (PST) or Saturday 12:15 am (IST).
In Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 18 preview – Kamo of Tokyo School is fighting Fushiguro. Also, Toge is shown surrounded in a mist and Mahito is also shown in the preview.

After consuming Sukuna, Yuji saves his friends with the power of Sukuna and Sukuna was happy to get a new body but Yuji suppressed Sukuna’s Consciousness and this made him a promising future Jujutsu Sorcerer with ultimate potential.
So he got an offer to join jujutsu tech as fist year student and also in that way people at jujutsu tech can keep eye on Yuji.
