Delhi, 27th August 2024: South Korean automaker Kia is expected to launch its latest electric SUV, the Kia EV9 GT Line, in India on October 3rd, 2024. The company, known for offering a range of vehicles in the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) and Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segments in India, is likely to make a significant announcement regarding the introduction of this new model. The Electric Vehicle (EV) is expected to feature Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and is anticipated to deliver a range of over 400 kilometers on a single charge, making it a competitive entry into the Indian electric vehicle market.
According to media reports, the Kia EV9 was first showcased at the Auto Expo in January 2023 and is now poised for an official launch in India. This seven-seater electric SUV is already available in some global markets and is equipped with various advanced features. The EV9 will be available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options, with battery capacities of 76.1 kilowatt-hours (kWh) and 99.8 kWh, respectively. The vehicle is expected to offer a claimed range of up to 445 kilometers, with the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes.
The Kia EV9 GT Line is anticipated to include a Highway Driving Pilot system, Level-3 ADAS, 19, 20, or 21-inch tires, vertical headlamps, and Star Map LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs). Other features include a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12-inch head-up display, and a 14-speaker audio system. Although official pricing details are yet to be confirmed, reports suggest that the EV9 GT Line could be priced around one crore rupees in India, with the vehicle being imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
