Jujutsu Kaisen aired it’s action-packed 20th episode last Saturday and in this episode, Gojo Satoru unleashed a technique that looked similar to odama Rasengan.
Rasengan is a signature move of Naruto and few other characters like Jiraiya, Minato, Boruto, Konohamaru of Naruto Franchise. To use a Rasengan, one needs to compress the chakra in form of a sphere, inside this sphere chakra spins rapidly and this makes a spinning ball of chakra. This technique deals massive amount of damage to the opponent.
A Rasengan can be as small as a tennis ball to a ridiculously huge sphere depending on the user’s chakra and affinity. Naruto has used various types of Raengan in the series like Odama(large) Rasengan, tailed beast Rasengan and many more
In Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo Satoru used a technique Hollow Purple in which he combined Cursed Technique Amplification: Blue and Cursed Technique Reversal : Red. This technique produced a large Cursed energy sphere and paved a large line along the way it was fired.
Apart from the composition of the sphere, the difference between them is that the Hollow Purple technique is of purple colour and Rasengan is basically blue but depending on its amplification it can be of any colour.

Jujutsu Kaisen is an anime series based on manga series of the same name by author Gege Akutami. The series premiered on October 3, 2020, and is scheduled to run for 24 episodes.
Set up in modern Japan, life is not completely normal for few who can see Curses. Curses or Cursed spirits are a race of beings which are the result of negative human emotions. These Cursed spirits bring harm to humanity and are targeted by jujutsu sorcerers. Jujutsu Sorcerers are trained and skilled members of jujutsu tech capable of fighting curses.
The story revolves around a young boy Yuji Itadori whose life completely flipped when he swallowed the finger of King of Curses, Sukuna and gained power but in addition to power, he constantly has to fight Sukuna to prevent his consciousness from being overtaken.
Later he joins the Jujutsu Tech school on the invitation of Gojo Satoru to learn about Cursed spirits and become stronger.
