Maval Taluka, known for its rich natural beauty and a popular destination for tourism, is now home to a vibrant blooming plateau. Traditionally, the name “Kas Plateau” has been synonymous with the famous flowering region in Satara. However, a similar phenomenon has now emerged in Pune district, drawing large crowds.
The plateau, located close to Tiger Point in Maval, has witnessed a spectacular bloom of Karvi flowers, a rare event that occurs once every seven to eight years. This unexpected floral display has transformed the landscape, and tourists from Mumbai, Pune, and surrounding areas are flocking to witness it.
Spanning over 25 to 30 acres, the vibrant plateau has become a hotspot for nature lovers and photographers, reminiscent of the colorful blooms seen at the Kas Plateau in Satara. The endless stretch of purple Karvi flowers has become a significant attraction, with visitors enjoying the beauty of this natural wonder, often capturing it through selfies and photographs.
This newfound attraction adds to the allure of Lonavala’s tourism, drawing tourists who typically visit sites like Bhushi Dam or other popular monsoon spots. Now, this blooming plateau has become a must-visit, further boosting the region’s tourism appeal.
