Maharashtra to Witness Above-Average Rainfall in September, Says IMD

Maharashtra’s rainfall performance has been impressive, with the state receiving 126% of average rainfall since June 1. Region-wise, Konkan has seen 30% above average rainfall, Madhya Maharashtra 51%, Marathwada 15%, and Vidarbha 16%.

However, twelve districts in East Vidarbha, Marathwada, and Konkan divisions recorded below-average rainfall in August. The predicted rainfall in September is expected to alleviate water scarcity concerns and support crop growth in these regions.

The prolonged monsoon season will bring relief to farmers and residents, bolstering agricultural production and replenishing water reserves. With the IMD predicting a delayed return journey of the monsoon, Maharashtra can expect favorable weather conditions throughout September.

As the monsoon season draws to a close, the IMD’s prediction brings optimism for a robust harvest and improved water availability. Maharashtra’s agricultural sector, which contributes significantly to the state’s economy, is poised to benefit from the above-average rainfall.
