Maharashtra Weather Update: Rainfall Subsides, Monsoon Withdrawal Delayed

The return journey of monsoon winds, which began on September 23, has come to a halt. Monsoon winds have withdrawn from parts of Punjab, Haryana, West Gujarat, and Rajasthan, but the process has stalled since September 24. In Pune, the monsoon withdrawal is expected to occur between October 10 and 17.

Pune residents can expect a dry spell until October 5, with minimal rainfall. Temperatures are likely to remain moderate, with daytime temperatures ranging from 28-32°C and nighttime temperatures ranging from 18-22°C. Retired Meteorological Department scientists note that the return journey of seasonal winds has been delayed in recent years, potentially impacting Pune’s weather patterns.

Overall, Maharashtra and Pune will experience a dry spell with minimal rainfall until October 5. The delayed monsoon withdrawal may bring changes to the state’s weather in the coming weeks. Residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and monsoon updates.
