Pune, 3rd September 2024: Maratha Reservation Activist Manoj Jarange Patil is currently on a tour of Maharashtra, where he is holding meetings to discuss the role of the Maratha community in the upcoming Legislative Assembly Elections in the state. During this tour, he was in Pune yesterday. Manoj Jarange Patil held a night meeting with community members from Pune City and District, where various issues were discussed.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Manoj Jarange Patil announced that a gathering of all Maratha brothers from Maharashtra will soon be held at Antarvali Sarati. Approximately 20 to 22 lakh community members are expected to attend from across the state. He added that the community will decide whether to “fight or fall” in the upcoming elections.

When asked about touring all over Maharashtra, whether he should go on a hunger strike or contest the Legislative Assembly Elections, Jarange Patil responded, “The community is ready for anything. I am their son, which is why they oppose me going on a hunger strike. Although they are against it, I am not doing anything wrong. I am working for the betterment of our community’s children. This is the sentiment behind my actions.”

When asked if more time would be given to the Maharashtra Government, Jarange Patil replied, “A year’s worth of time has already been given. How much more time should be given? It won’t work anymore. So why give them more time? They won’t remain the government. How long can the government continue like this? The poor OBCs are suffering. Every section of society is suffering. So what exactly is this government doing?”

Jarange Patil further stated, “The Maratha community makes up more than 50% of Maharashtra. For many years, this community has been oppressed. How much longer can we endure? Now, people will rise for the sake of their children and bring down those responsible. They will not be spared any longer.”
