ACP Mohanlalganj Rajneesh Verma told PTI, “Around noon on Saturday, Meta AI alerted the Social Media Centre at the Director General of Police’s office about a young woman hanging from a noose. A police team immediately responded to the location and rescued her safely.” At the time of the incident, the woman’s family was unaware of her intentions.

Further details revealed that the woman was involved in a romantic relationship with the man from another area. The couple had married in an Arya Samaj temple four months prior and had been living together as husband and wife. However, the marriage was not legally recognized, and the man eventually left her, returning to his own home. This abandonment led the woman to experience significant mental distress, prompting her decision to end her life.

On Saturday, driven by her emotional turmoil, the woman made a noose at home, placed it around her neck, and recorded a video expressing her intent to die by suicide. The video quickly went viral, prompting a swift response from Meta AI. Upon receiving the alert, the Directorate General of Police immediately informed the relevant police station. Officers, including a female police officer, quickly arrived at the woman’s village.

The woman was safely rescued from the situation and was provided counseling by female officers for about an hour. ACP Verma stated that the woman is now in stable condition, and the police are maintaining regular contact with her. The entire incident is currently under investigation.

Following the woman’s complaint, her husband was arrested. Authorities are continuing to investigate the situation while also providing ongoing support and counseling to the woman.
