Delhi, 27th August 2024: British automaker JSW MG Motors is set to launch its latest Compact Utility Vehicle (CUV), the MG Windsor EV, in the Indian market on September 11, 2024. The new electric vehicle (EV) is expected to feature advanced technology and a range of over 460 kilometers. This launch will position MG Windsor EV in direct competition with other prominent electric vehicles in India, including models from Tata, Mahindra, and BYD. The vehicle will likely be priced around 20 lakh rupees ex-showroom, making it an attractive option for consumers in this segment.
The MG Windsor EV is expected to be wider than the MG Astor but shorter than the MG Hector, with dimensions likely measuring around 4300 mm in length, 1850 mm in width, and 1650 mm in height. These proportions suggest a compact yet spacious design, appealing to urban and suburban drivers.
Among its key features, the Windsor EV is anticipated to include connected LED lights, a panoramic sunroof, a 15.6-inch infotainment system, and an 8.8-inch instrument cluster. Other features likely to be offered are a wireless phone charging system, auto climate control, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), and a 360-degree camera, providing a comprehensive suite of comfort and safety options.
Additionally, MG Motors is expected to introduce an innovative connectivity platform in the Windsor EV, developed in collaboration with Jio. This platform will allow users to access multiple Over-The-Top (OTT) apps, games, and educational content, enhancing the in-car entertainment experience.
The MG Windsor EV will come equipped with a 50.6 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery, offering a range of up to 460 kilometers. The battery can be charged from 20% to 100% in seven hours using a standard charger or from 30% to 100% in just 30 minutes with a fast charger, making it a convenient option for long-distance travel.
