Pimpri Chinchwad, 7th October 2024: A murder accused has been arrested within 12 hours by Pimpri Chinchwad Police. The murder occurred last night when the deceased was standing near a country-made liquor store. An unknown person attacked the deceased with a brick due to a minor conflict that happened while both were in a drunken state and then stabbed him in the chest with a screwdriver. This operation was carried out by the Detection Branch (DB) of Chinchwad Police Station.
The deceased has been identified as Aamir Maqbool Khan (age 34, resident of Chinchwad). Chinchwad Police have arrested Yashwant Atmaram Bagade (age 42, resident of Chinchwad). A case under BNS Section 103 (punishment for murder) has been registered against him.
According to information provided by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Swapna Gore, the incident occurred yesterday near a country-made liquor store close to Kunal Riverside Housing Society. At that time, the deceased was having a drink, and the accused was also drinking. The accused mistakenly gave the deceased Khan’s used glass to a third person, which angered Khan and prompted him to start abusing and beating the accused Bagade with a chappal. The accused went outside onto the road, and the deceased followed him, continuing to beat him.
At that moment, the accused Bagade picked up a brick and threw it at Khan. Following that, Bagade stabbed Khan in the chest with a screwdriver. Chinchwad Police swiftly arrived and began investigating the incident using CCTV footage from the area. A suspect was identified, and an eyewitness confirmed his identity. DB of Chinchwad Police arrested the accused from Chinchwad Nagar within 12 hours.
This operation was conducted under the guidance of Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Dr Shashikant Mahavarkar, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Swapna Gore, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Chinchwad Division) Mugutlal Patil.
The team, led by Senior Police Inspector Jitendra Koli, included Police Sub-Inspectors Ram Jadhav and Ajit Dudhe, as well as Police Constables Dharmanath Todkar, Umesh Mohite, Umesh Wankhede, Rohit Pinjarkar, Pankaj Badane, Amol Mane, Raheem Shaikh, Pritam Pharande, Jagdish Bhamare, Bhagyashree Jamdade, and Nutan Konde.
