One Day Seminar On Advances In Sensors Held In DIAT Pune

The aim of this workshop was to bring out the recent developments in sensor technologies which are all important to space, defence, atomic energy and health sector. This workshop has thrown light to the attendees about the advancement of latest sensor technologies, its use in developing tools effectively. Around 100 participants have attended the workshop.

The one-day workshop consisted of keynotes address delivered by Dr. D. Sam Dayala Dev, Former Director, IISU and Vice-President, SRS and expert sessions by other eminent scientists from DRDO. Prof. Sangeeta Kale, Dean (Sponsored Research), Deptt of Applied Physics, DIAT was the coordinator from DIAT whereas the Dr. J. Nayak, Director, CHESS, DRDO was the coordinator from SRS. The workshop was also attended by the eminent senior scientists of DRDO, Dr. Anil P. Dash, OS & Director, HEMRL, Shri. A. Raju, Director, ARDE, Dr. S. E. Talole, Sci-H & Oftg. Director, R&DE Engg.

The Sensors Research Society (SRS) initially formulated by a group of eminent scientists from RCI-DRDO Hyderabad in 2008. It is one of the renowned Society in India comprising more than 400 members from across the country consisting of senior scientists from DRDO, ISRO and DAE along with eminent people from academia and industry. Dr. B.H.V.S. Narayana Murthy, Vice Chancellor, DIAT is the President of SRC. The SRC also conducted its Annual General meeting on 24th Aug, 2024 in DIAT wherein it has been decided to open its chapter in the western part of India for awareness of advance sensor technology.

On this occasion, Dr. B.H.V.S. Narayana Murthy, Vice Chancellor, DIAT and President, SRC congratulated the organizing team for successfully conducting the workshop and placed his regards for SRS members for their valuable contribution and efforts making the workshop and SRC meeting a grand success.
