Pune, 3rd October 2024: A 20-year imprisonment was sentenced after a man lured a minor girl into a marriage and assaulted her. The accused has been identified as Amol Krishna Pande (27), a resident of Bhigwan, taluka Indapur has been charged by Judge AA Shahapure who gave the said verdict.
According to the information received, the minor girl used to learn karate from Amol Pandey. He lured her into marriage and abducted her to Vairag where he assaulted her. After that, the police detained the victim girl along with the accused. Special Public Prosecutor Sandeep Ohol prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. 11 witnesses were examined in this case.
The testimony of the victim girl and the medical officer became important. It was argued on behalf of the accused that the girl came voluntarily, but the consent of a minor girl cannot be considered in law, hence in the said case too, there was no consent of the victim, the act was committed by the accused while he was married. Strong evidence was presented against the accused.
In this case, the court recommended that the amount of fine imposed on the accused should be paid to the victim girl and since the said amount was meager, the secretary of the District Legal Services Committee should pay compensation to the victim as per law. In this case, Adv Swapnil Jagtap, Faujdar Nischal Shitole, Court Officer Namdev Nalavde, and Faujdar Vijay Zhargad cooperated.
