Pune: 23-Year-Old Injured by Falling Tree Branch on JM Road

Shivajinagar, 22nd August 2024: A young man was injured yesterday when a tree branch fell on his head on Jungali Maharaj (JM) Road in Pune. The injured man, identified as Aditya Shivaji Saudagar (23), was immediately taken to a private hospital for treatment.

Aditya was standing at the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) bus stop in front of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Garden when the branch suddenly fell on him. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was quickly rushed to the hospital.

This incident is not the first of its kind in the area. About a year ago, a man named Abhijeet lost his life in a similar accident near Shree Omkareshwar Temple on JM Road when a tree branch fell on him. In February this year, a woman on a two-wheeler narrowly escaped injury when a tree branch fell near her in the same vicinity.

These recurring incidents have sparked growing criticism of the Pune Municipal Corporation’s (PMC) Garden Department from concerned citizens.
