Alandi, 18th August 2024: A 12-year-old boy was sexually assaulted by a supervisor at a residential institution for orphans in Alandi. The incident occurred in the early hours of yesterday. The police have arrested the accused employee, identified as Venkatesh Kashinath Malnoor, a resident of Alandi. The victim, also a 12-year-old orphan residing at the institution, filed a complaint at the Alandi Police Station.

According to the police, the organization is responsible for the accommodation of orphans in Alandi, and Venkatesh works as a supervisor there. Yesterday at 5 AM, the accused entered the victim’s room and took him to the TV room under the pretence of showing him something on his mobile phone, where he then sexually assaulted the boy.

Assistant Police Inspector Sali from the Alandi Police Station is investigating the matter further.
