Pimpri Chinchwad, 20th August 2024: Three hospitals in Pimpri Chinchwad received bomb threat emails mentioning the name of a terrorist organization. The hospitals informed the Pimpri Chinchwad Police, which led to a state of chaos.

The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) of the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate conducted searches but found the threats to be hoaxes.

One of the hospitals affected was Dhanwantari Hospital, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Nigdi Police Station. The Nigdi Police responded immediately upon receiving the update. They notified the BDDS, which thoroughly investigated the hospital but found no suspicious items.

Similar threat emails were also received by Medicover Hospital in Bhosari and Morya Hospital in Chinchwad. As a precaution, the police inspected these hospitals as well, but no dangerous items were discovered.

The inclusion of a terrorist organization’s name in the emails heightened the perceived threat. The Pimpri Chinchwad Police are currently investigating the source and motive behind the emails.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Dr Vishal Hire said, “Our team, in collaboration with the BDDS, conducted a comprehensive search of both hospitals but did not uncover any explosives.”
