Attendees included Pune City Additional Commissioner Manoj Patil, Traffic Deputy Commissioner Amol Zende, and other officials, residents, and social activists. Deputy Commissioner Manoj Patil reported that around 140,000 vehicles traverse Kothrud’s main roads daily. He suggested road-widening initiatives at Abhinav Chowk on Paud and Karve Roads, as well as near Anand Nagar Metro Station, among other measures to ease congestion.
MLA Patil urged authorities to focus on both short-term actions and long-term solutions, which would be reviewed weekly. He also recommended increasing traffic wardens and raising public awareness. A coordinator, Sandeep Khardekar, was appointed to facilitate communication between residents and authorities.
The meeting also acknowledged a recent accident on Karve Road, expressing condolences for the tragic death of Geetanjali Amarale.
