“The feeder bus service is currently running every half hour or hourly. PMPML is only earning Rs 100 per trip. We need to focus on routes that show a good response from passengers for the feeder bus service. Based on that, we can increase the number of buses on those routes,” said a PMPML official.
The metro network in Pimpri Chinchwad is growing, and more passengers are using it every day. Right now, work is in progress from Morwadi, Pimpri to Bhakti Shakti Chowk in Nigdi. The metro runs from Vanaz to Ramwadi, and it’s becoming a key connection between Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad. PCMC station alone sees about 14,000 passengers daily, which adds up to around 31 lakh in a month! About 30% of these passengers rely on private vehicles or the PMPML bus service to get home after they get off the metro.
