In addition to these guidelines, the police have set conditions for the approval of new boards. These include permission for Ganesha Mandals granted in 2022 till 2026 (5 years), registration of new Ganesha Mandals with the Charity Commissioner, and obtaining necessary certificates.

Other guidelines include restrictions on the height and width of scenes in the procession, a ban on events after 10 pm, and the mandatory use of CCTV cameras in Ganesh Mandals. The police have also emphasized the importance of women’s safety and prohibited the use of strong beam lights.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Sandeep Singh Gill assured that the police force is ready to ensure a smooth passage for the Ganeshotsav celebrations. “We are getting positive cooperation from major Ganesh Mandals in the city, and we will make more improvements this year than last year,” he said.

The police have also planned to ensure that the immersion procession is completed in time, with special efforts to keep the procession flowing without gaps between circles. With these guidelines in place, the Pune Police aims to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable Ganeshotsav celebration for all devotees.
