Pune: SPPU’s “Let Us Dream” Conference Explores Paths to Social Change

Pune, 29th September 2024: The Centre for Disabilities Studies and Inclusive Education, Department of Education & Extension, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), in collaboration with Christ Deemed University, Lavasa, Pune, hosted the “Community Intervention Conference 2024” on Saturday. The conference, themed “Let Us Dream,” took place at the Department of Education & Extension at SPPU.

The event commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, followed by the dignitaries’ introduction by Missel Pinto. Dhananjay Bhole delivered the keynote address, setting the tone for the conference by outlining its objectives. Father Lijo, in his opening remarks, highlighted the importance of the conference in fostering community involvement.

One of the prominent speakers, Prof. Dr. Vilas Adhav, Director of the School of Education at SPPU, emphasized the significance of community building and expressed his appreciation for the conference’s theme, “Let Us Dream.” The Chief Guest, Dr. Vijay Khare, former Officiating Registrar of SPPU, underscored the importance of collaboration in organizing such events that inspire change and progress. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Geeta Shinde.

The panel discussions that followed were well-received, with the panellists and moderator engaging in insightful conversations. Retired Lt. Col. Patil captivated the audience with his motivational speech, titled “I Am the Change Maker,” encouraging individuals to take action in creating positive societal change. The Chair provided final remarks before Prof. Geeta Shinde once again delivered the vote of thanks.
