Pune Traffic Police Announces Diversion Ahead Of Metro Line Inauguration

The Pune Traffic Police have announced temporary traffic and parking restrictions to ensure a smooth and safe experience for citizens and dignitaries attending the inauguration of the Shivajinagar to Swargate Metro Line today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the metro line, marking a significant milestone in Pune’s urban development virtually.  

To facilitate the event, traffic restrictions will be in place from 7:00 AM onwards. Specifically, Ganesh Kala Krida Center and Swargate Metro Station Area will see Jedhe Chowk to Bajaj Putala road closed to all vehicles. Additionally, Civil Court Metro Station Area will have Chhatrapati Shivaji Putla Chowk to Kamgar Putla Chowk and Tofkhana Chowk to Ranade Path closed from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. No parking will be allowed in designated areas until further notice.

Motorists are advised to take alternative routes to avoid congestion. One such route is Satara Road from Jedhe Chowk to Volga Square. Citizens are requested to plan their commute accordingly and check the Pune Traffic Police website, Facebook, and Twitter for updates.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic Branch, Amol Zende, “We have made necessary arrangements to ensure a seamless experience for citizens and dignitaries. We request cooperation from the public to follow traffic guidelines.” The inauguration marks a significant step towards enhancing Pune’s public transportation infrastructure.

The event is scheduled to take place at 10:00 AM onwards, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to inaugurate the line virtually and other dignitaries expected to attend. Citizens are advised to stay informed and plan ahead to avoid any inconvenience.
