Pune: Two-Wheelers Burned in Wagholi Over Past Feud, Lonikand Police Register Case

Wagholi, 18th August 2024: Two two-wheelers were set on fire due to a past enmity in Wagholi. The incident occurred earlier today at 1:30 AM in Wagheshwar Nagar. A case has been registered against four individuals. Sudhir Laxman Petkar (34, resident of Wagholi), the owner of the burned two-wheelers, complained to Lonikand Police Station.

The police have registered a case against Ganesh Dande, Shrutik Yerkar, Suraj Pawar, and Samir Pille (all residents of Gore Wasti, Wagholi). According to police reports, while the Petkar family was asleep, they noticed the smell of something burning and heard a noise. Upon stepping outside, they saw Ganesh Dande and his three accomplices setting fire to the two-wheelers. When confronted, Dande brandished a stick and, using abusive language, threatened, “Don’t mess with me, or I’ll burn you like the two-wheelers.” After the accused left, the Petkar family attempted to extinguish the fire by throwing water, but the damage had already been done. They reported the incident to the police that same night.
