Camp, 4th September 2024: Eight-year-old Aura Ankur Kulin of Hutchings High School, Pune made not only Pune but our Maharashtra proud by winning India Spelling Bee Competition at the National level and bagging the second position at the International level. In a display of exceptional linguistic prowess, Aura Ankur Kulin has etched her name in the annals of language excellence by securing two remarkable titles on a global and national stage. The young prodigy’s achievements in the ISB Spelling Bee International 2023-2024 Grand Finale and ISB National Championship 2023-2024 for the second time in a row are nothing short of awe-inspiring.
At the highly anticipated ISB Spelling Bee International 2023-2024 Grand Finale conducted on 22 Jun 24, Aura Ankur Kulin demonstrated her mettle by clinching the remarkable second position. The virtual event, which saw participants from more than 25 countries compete at three different stages for the coveted title, showcased Aura’s dedication, linguistic acumen, and unwavering determination.
However, Aura’s journey to triumph doesn’t stop there. In an equally remarkable feat, she secured the title of ISB National Champion for the third consecutive year. Her back-to-back victories in the national arena are a testament to her consistent excellence and unyielding commitment to language mastery.
India Spelling Bee announced Aura as the National Champion of India Spelling Bee Competition for the Year 2023-24 third time in a row. Aura competed against the spelling champions from various prestigious schools from all across India and stood victorious in a tough nail biting competition.
ISB International Level: The ISB International level competition was conducted at three levels, the Preliminary level, the National level and the International level. At the Preliminary level conducted on 03 Feb 2024 children of various Schools from 25 Countries participated wherein ten children were selected. These winners then competed at the second level on 01 Jun 2024 and top five spellers were selected. These top five spellers from all across the Globe competed in the Grand Finale conducted on 22 Jun 2024 wherein the top three spellers were awarded. Aura stood Second in the competition making our Country proud. The children competed in various engrossing rounds that tested their abilities in Spelling and vocabulary.
ISB National Level: The ISB National level competition was conducted at three levels, the School level, the Regional level and the National level. At the school level conducted on 08 Oct 2023 children of various Schools pan India participated wherein 400 children were selected. These winners from the school level then underwent a second level of competition pitched at the Regional level on 20 July 2024. For the competition purpose the country has been divided into four Regions with each Region comprising of seven to eight States. At the Regional level the 400 winners of the first level competed, out of which a total of 12 children were selected, top three from each region. Aura emerged as the champion from Western Region which comprised of seven states viz Daman & Diu, Dadar & Nagar, Goa, Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Aura stood champion at all the levels bagging the first position each time, making Pune proud at each and every step.
At the National level conducted on 25 Aug 2024 the 12 spelling champions from the four regions contested against each other. Wherein, the wonder girl of Pune – Aura, was crowned the National Spelling Bee Champion for the year 2023-24.
