Radhika, a CBSE Student with Learning Disabilities, Scores 97% in Class 10 Exams, Proving That Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way

Radhika, who recently excelled in her CBSE Class 10 board exams, faces learning disabilities including Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, and ADHD.

A remarkable story of triumph over adversity has emerged, but this time it’s not from the big screen. Instead, it’s the real-life journey of Radhika, a student who defied the odds to score an impressive 97 percent in her CBSE Class 10 board exams, despite battling significant learning challenges.

On August 19, 2024, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) spotlighted Radhika’s inspiring success in a short video. In the 51-second clip, Radhika candidly shares her struggles with learning disorders and the steps she took to overcome them.

Radhika, who faces Dyscalculia, Dysgraphia, and ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), explained, “Studying for exams is tough for everyone, but for someone with learning disabilities, it was even harder.”

Maths was particularly challenging due to her Dyscalculia, but Radhika credits the CBSE for allowing her to choose an alternative subject that better suited her abilities. During her exams, she was assisted by a writer—whom she described as “amazing”—enabling her to concentrate on the content of her answers without the added pressure of writing.

She also expressed deep gratitude for her school, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, and its supportive teachers, who played a crucial role in helping her and other students with learning disabilities to unlock their potential.

With her remarkable achievement, Radhika had a message for other students facing similar challenges: “You can do anything you set your mind to.”

Radhika’s story is a powerful reminder that determination and the right support can help students overcome even the most daunting obstacles. Her journey is an inspiring example for anyone struggling academically, showing that success is within reach with perseverance and the right guidance.

In a related development, the CBSE recently issued new guidelines for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) in a notice to all affiliated schools.
