Meanwhile, the withdrawal of monsoon winds has stalled. The process, which began on September 23rd and continued till September 24th, has slowed down. The retreating monsoon winds have moved back from parts of western Gujarat, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana. However, since September 24th, the withdrawal process has halted, and conditions are currently not favorable for further retreat. The monsoon is expected to withdraw from Pune and Mumbai between October 10th and 17th.

Typically, the monsoon withdraws from Mumbai and Pune around October 5th, but in recent years, the retreat has been delayed, according to Dr. Anupam Kashyapi, a retired meteorological scientist.
