Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were blessed with a baby girl on Sunday, September 8, at Mumbai’s HN Reliance Hospital.
While the power couple welcomed their first child, they are yet to announce a name.
The two took to Instagram and posted an image without a caption. The image had a white background and simply read, “Welcome baby girl! 8.9.2024, Deepika & Ranveer.”
Soon, celebrities and fans showered love and blessings on the little one. However, fans couldn’t contain their excitement and suggested sweet names for DeepVeer’s baby princess.
One of the names thrown around – a mix of both the parents’ names (as is the celeb trend – Virushka, Misha, geddit?) – was Ravika. A fan page of Deepika shared a scene from Bajirao Mastani where Deepika’s character gives birth and said, “Do you think Ravika should be named after DeepVeer’s baby girl?” In the comments, a fan said, “Ravika =sun rays!” Another commented with red heart emoticons.
Another netizen shared a suggestion on ‘X’ and wrote, “I want them to name her ‘Ridhee’. It has दी of Deepika, र of Ranveer and it’s related to Siddhivinayak ganpati ji (as she was born on the days of Ganesh Chaturthi).”
Besides, netizens also suggested, “Deepthi, Dia, Parisa (Meaning: Fairy-like. Parisa is a feminine name of Persian origin to celebrate the baby’s mythical, imaginative spirit)”. A user on Instagram commented, “Ranveer – Deepika = Radhika.” Another person said, “Ranveer + Deepika = Renuka.” The other unique name suggested was ‘Anika’.
A tweet read, “’Urja’ is one cute short modern kind of name related to light.”
Another tweet read, “A possible name for a baby girl of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, using elements from their names, could be Ritika. Diva Rhea.”
Meanwhile, a fan suggested, “Ranveer and Deepika should consider naming their daughter Padmavati or Rama, inspired by the Kalki Purana, where Lord Kali is prophesied to marry these two princesses. Plus, Deepika was outstanding in Kalki AD 2898.”
Deepika and Ranveer got hitched in November 2018 in Lake Como, Italy. They tied the knot after 6 years of dating each other. In February, this year, the couple shared the news of the pregnancy through an Instagram post in which they revealed the due month of the baby’s arrival. The couple visited Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple a few days ago.
On the work front, both Deepika and Ranveer will be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again. Apart from this, Ranveer will be also seen in Farhan Akhtar’s Don 3, which also stars Kiara Advani in the lead role.
