“We have repeatedly brought up the issue of traffic jams in PMC meetings. The surge in vehicles has made daily commutes a nightmare for residents,” Bhosale emphasized, stressing the need for timely action. The junction’s role as a key stop for MSRTC and private luxury buses traveling to Marathwada and Vidarbha further exacerbates the traffic burden.

In response, PMC officials are inspecting the area to devise solutions. “Our primary goal is to enhance traffic flow at this busy chowk,” confirmed a PMC official. The corporation is exploring options for a grade separator or flyover, as well as widening existing roads, particularly for left turns, to create more space for vehicles.

This move follows the recent approval of a Rs 97 crore flyover and grade separator project at Shastrinagar Chowk. With the PMC’s proactive approach, residents can look forward to smoother commutes and reduced congestion in the area.

The proposed solutions aim to alleviate traffic congestion, enhance flow, and accommodate the growing number of vehicles. Residents remain hopeful for a smoother, more efficient commute through Sangamwadi junction.
