On X (formerly Twitter), Munjal shared, I didn’t clear JEE, but I managed to get Coldplay tickets today. It feels great.

Coldplay has announced performances in Mumbai, generating immense excitement that was evident in the ticket sales. The demand was so high that the BookMyShow website experienced significant delays.

Despite the rush, tickets sold out quickly, forcing many fans to turn to scalping websites, where tickets were listed for exorbitant prices, sometimes reaching lakhs for a ticket that originally cost only 4000.

It’s important to note that scalping is illegal in India, which raises questions about the validity of these tickets. Amidst this chaos, Gaurav Munjal’s post on X has gone viral.

He tweeted, ‘‘Didn’t clear JEE. But got the Coldplay Tickets today.’

Tickets for Coldplay’s forthcoming concert in India were available for purchase through BookMyShow. The ticket prices vary between Rs 2,500 and Rs 12,500 on the platform.

Additionally, fans could choose from several price ranges, including Rs 3,000, Rs 3,500, Rs 4,000, Rs 4,500, Rs 9,000, and Rs 9,500.

Munjal was among the fortunate individuals who successfully secured tickets during a spike in demand that temporarily overwhelmed the BookMyShow platform.

His tweet attracted many replies One person commented, ‘ Huge Acheivement.’ Another comment reads, “Well done, he knows his priorities.’ ‘What mantra you used to hack bms bro? Ticket kaise mila? If you black this and fund us mera pre seed round hojayega,’ was yet another comment. Other comment read, ‘For you it’s like, Helping new generation(s) to clear JEE and got Coldplay tickets.’

The Coldplay concert is set to occur at the DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai, featuring performances on Saturday, January 18, and Sunday, January 19, 2025. Due to overwhelming demand, the band has added a third show at the same location on January 2.
