“The Swargate to Shivajinagar Civil Court metro line has been ready for inauguration for several days now. Despite its readiness, the metro line has not been opened for the public due to the insistence on having the Prime Minister inaugurate it. Citing heavy rains as the reason, the Prime Minister has postponed the inauguration ceremony. It is not right for a metro line, built using public funds, to remain unused due to the whims of one individual. Therefore, if this line is not opened by tomorrow, the Mahavikas Aghadi will inaugurate the metro line, said – Prashant Jagtap, Pune City President, Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction)

The MVA’s decision to inaugurate the metro line is seen as a strategic attempt to gain an upper hand in the upcoming elections. “We are proud to inaugurate the Pune Metro, a project that will benefit the citizens of Pune,” said Arvind Shinde, President of the Pune City District Congress Committee.

The BJP, which initially planned to have PM Modi inaugurate the metro line, has been left scrambling after the cancellation of his visit. The party’s inability to secure the inauguration has been perceived as a missed opportunity.

Political analysts believe that the MVA’s move will give the party a significant advantage in the assembly elections. “The Pune Metro inauguration is a symbol of development and public welfare.

As the assembly elections approach, the political credit game is expected to intensify. The Pune Metro inauguration has set the stage for a fierce battle between the MVA and the BJP.
