A letter was submitted to MIT, demanding immediate corrective actions to address safety concerns in the area. A joint meeting involving MIT, police, traffic officials, PMC, and citizens will soon be scheduled to find long-term solutions to the persistent issues faced by the residents.
Sandeep Bhadkamkar from CF@11, a non-political citizen group representing 60+ societies, praised the dedication of residents and all citizens involved in the protest to raise the issue troubling the locals for many years now.
The protest emerged after an 8:45 a.m. accident near Shilpa Society where a senior citizen was badly hit by a reckless two wheeler driver, highlighting ongoing concerns about reckless driving by MIT students in the area.
