Mumbai/Pune, 23rd September 2024: For Pune Metro to be a success, the completion of the Maan Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar route, also known as Metro Line 3, is crucial. To expedite this, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar has issued specific instructions.

Pawar has requested that police allow round-the-clock girder-laying work on public and government holidays between Shivajinagar and Aundh to speed up the project. Additionally, care should be taken to maintain the roads beneath the integrated double-decker flyover to avoid traffic congestion. Pawar is scheduled to visit the site on 26th September to inspect the progress of Metro Line 3.

Present at the meeting were Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) OP Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary (Planning), Principal Secretary of Urban Development Aseem Kumar Gupta, and Pimpri Chinchwad Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Bapu Bangar. Several officials from civic bodies and police departments in Pune attended the meeting online.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawar, who reviewed the Maan Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar Metro Line 3 project at Mantralaya today, emphasized that any road or drainage damage caused by the metro construction must be immediately repaired using new technology to prevent traffic disruptions. He warned that if these repairs are not completed promptly, action will be taken against the responsible company.

To expedite the construction of the Baner and Pashan ramps, Pawar also instructed the police department to permit round-the-clock work on public holidays for girder-laying and other tasks. He further emphasized the importance of ensuring that the roads used for traffic diversions are kept in good condition.
