Anna, a chartered accountant from Kerala, worked at EY’s Pune office for four months before her untimely death. Her mother, Anita Augustine, alleged in a letter to EY India Chairman Rajiv Memani that Anna’s death was caused by the company’s exploitative work environment and excessive workload.
The incident has sparked widespread concern, with former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar describing Anna’s death as “disturbing at many levels” and demanding a probe. Responding to his concerns, Shobha Karandlaje assured a thorough investigation and commitment to justice.
