Key Roads Closed As Pune Prepares for PM Modi’s Visit on Thursday, Traffic Restrictions Announced

Pune, 25th September 2024: In anticipation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Pune on September 26 (Thursday), Amol Zende, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), has announced temporary traffic guidelines to ensure safe and smooth movement within the city. The restrictions will be in effect from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on the day of the visit.

To facilitate the Prime Minister’s arrival, several roads in Pune will be closed to all heavy vehicles, including:

1. Solapur Road – Next to Bhairoba Nala Chowk
2. Nagar Road – Next to Kharadi Bypass Chowk
3. Alandi Road – Next to Bopkhel Phata Chowk
4. Old Mumbai Highway – Next to Harris Bridge
5. Aundh Road – Next to Rajiv Gandhi Bridge
6. Baner Road – Next to Radha Hotel Chowk
7. Pashan Road – Next to Shivaji Putla Chowk
8. Paud Road – Next to Paud Phata Chowk
9. Karve Road – Next to Warje Pulache Chowk
10. Sinhagad Road – Next to Vadgaon Bridge Chowk
11. Satara Road – Beyond Market Yard Junction
12. Saswad Road (via Bopdev Ghat) – Khadimachine Chowk further towards Kondhwa
13. Saswad Road – Mantarwadi Phata further towards Hadapsar

In addition to the road closures, a no-parking zone will be implemented on the following roads:

1. From Technical Airport to Garrison Engineering Chowk, including Golf Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk, and others.
2. Jedhe Chowk to Vega Center Chowk – Solapur Road.
3. Jedhe Chowk to Laxminarayan Chowk – Satara Road.
4. Shastri Road – Sinhagad Road junction to Tilak Chowk.
5. FC Road – Khandojibaba Chowk to Chafekar Chowk.
6. Sangamwadi Road – Patil Estate to Sadalbaba Chowk to Ambedkar Chowk.
7. Golf Club Chowk to Gunjan Chowk to Parnkuti Chowk, among others.
8. From Senadutt Police Chowky to Mhatre Bridge Chowk to Nal Stop Chowk to Paudphata Chowk.
9. Jedhe Chowk to Laxminarayan Chowk to Mitra Mandal Chowk to Savarkar Putla Chowk.
10. Sanas Putla Chowk to N C Phadke Chowk to Nath Pai Chowk.

There will be two-way allowed on Ranade Path, specifically between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Putla Chowk and Kamgar Putla Chowk.

DCP Amol Zende emphasized the importance of adhering to these guidelines to ensure a seamless experience during the Prime Minister’s visit. “We request all citizens to cooperate and plan their travel accordingly,” he stated.
