Ravet, 25th September 2024: A woman returned home after dropping her son off at school, only to find her house engulfed in flames. Initially, the cause of the fire was unclear, but it was later determined to have been triggered by a clothes iron left on after a power outage. The incident occurred around 10 AM today in Ravet.
According to reports, the Pradhikaran Fire Station of the Pimpri Chinchwad Fire Brigade received an emergency call about a fire in a flat located in Bhondve Bagh, Ravet. Firefighters Gautam Ingawale, Sampat Gaund, Sanjay Mahadik, Anil Mane, Rajesh Sakhale, Gaurav Surawase, and Shivaji Pawar responded promptly, arriving at the scene and extinguishing the fire swiftly.
Upon inspection, the fire department discovered extensive damage, particularly in the bedroom, where everything had been burned. The investigation revealed that the fire started when the woman, who had been ironing clothes, forgot to turn off the iron after a power cut. In her rush to take her child to school, she left the iron plugged in.
When the electricity was restored, the iron overheated, sparking a fire. In addition to the iron, the woman had left her mobile phone charging in the bedroom. The fire destroyed various household items, including beds, mattresses, pillows, blankets, the iron, the mobile phone, electric wires, and ceiling fans.
