Pimpri Chinchwad Police Prepare for Navaratri: Safety Measures and Arrangements Discussed in Review Meeting

Pimpri Chinchwad, 1st October 2024: As Navaratri approaches, with Ghatasthapana on 3rd October, the Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate (PCPC) is ramping up safety preparations.

Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey led a review meeting today, visiting all three zones of the PCPC to oversee arrangements. Commissioner Choubey personally briefed the officers in charge of the 18 police stations, giving specific instructions to ensure a safe and peaceful celebration.

The key directives include:

1) Necessary arrangements must be made at venues where Dandiya is played, as well as in the surrounding areas during the Navratri festival.
2) Navratri Mandals are required to install adequate CCTV cameras at Dandiya venues.
3) Measures will be taken to ensure the safety of women and young girls at Dandiya, Garba, and other events during the festival.
4) Navratri Mandals must appoint sufficient volunteers at locations where idols of goddesses are placed and at Dandiya and Garba venues.
5) Police patrol vehicles and beat marshals from the DB squad will continuously monitor parks, gardens, open fields, and other public areas.
6) The routes for Devi processions and the Durga Daud will be checked in advance to avoid any issues.
7) Steps will be taken to manage loose animals near venues where goddesses are seated and at crowded Garba and Dandiya locations.
8) Officers from police stations and the crime branch will conduct daily foot patrols in crowded areas.
9) All personnel must work diligently to maintain law and order throughout the Navratri festival.

CP Vinoy Kumar Choubey urged the public, “Citizens should cooperate with the police and celebrate Navratri peacefully and joyfully.”

The review meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Doiphode, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 1) Swapna Gore, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Vishal Gaikwad, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Dr. Shivaji Pawar, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Pimpri Division) Sachin Hire, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Chinchwad Division) Mugutlal Patil, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Chakan Division) Rajendra Singh Gour, and the in-charge inspectors of all police stations.
