Pimpri Chinchwad, 19th September 2024: Two notorious thieves involved in stealing expensive two-wheelers have been arrested by Pimpri Chinchwad Police. The thieves were responsible for stealing a variety of motorcycles, including Royal Enfield Bullets, Bajaj Pulsars, and other vehicles, totalling six confiscated items. They operated in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, and also stole in Shirdi and Solapur areas. This action was taken by Crime Branch Unit 1.
Unit 1 has arrested Prasad Bharat Pandav (23, resident of Moshi) and Sachin Ashok Sudam (24, resident of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar). A case under IPC Section 379 (theft) has been registered against them at MIDC Bhosari Police Station, leading to their arrest.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Doiphode, on September 16th, Police Constables Sachin More and Pramod Garje from Crime Branch Unit 1 received information from a confidential source about two individuals with stolen two-wheelers coming to sell them in the Moshi area. The police set up a trap and arrested two individuals who matched the description and appeared suspicious. They were found in possession of a Bajaj Pulsar 220F bike, which had been stolen in December 2022 from the Moshi area, with a case registered at MIDC Bhosari Police Station.
Further investigation revealed that the suspects were notorious thieves. They had six vehicles in their possession: two Royal Enfield Bullets, one Bajaj Pulsar, one Yamaha, one Hero Splendor, and one Hero Deluxe, totalling a value of Rs 5 lakhs. Cases have been registered against them at MIDC Bhosari, Chakan, Chinchwad, Shirdi, and Mandrup Police Stations.
This operation was conducted under the guidance of Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey, Joint Commissioner of Police Dr Shashikant Mahavarkar, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Doiphode, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Dr Vishal Hire. The team, led by Senior Police Inspector Jitendra Kadam, included Police Sub Inspector Shivaji Kanade and Police Constables Sachin More, Amit Khanvilkar, Ganesh Mahadik, Pramod Garje, and Swapnil Mahale.
