Additionally, the President’s office emphasized the need to resolve the pothole situation before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit on September 26. This message triggered significant activity within the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

Consequently, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has begun repair work. In an interview with the Free Press Journal, Aniruddha Pawaskar, the head of the PMC Road Department, mentioned, “We have started the work as directed by the Pune Police, and all the work of patchwork, resurfacing, and the removal of speed breakers is ongoing and will be completed well before the PM’s tour.”

At the same time, the Pune unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held a protest at the PMC, where they garlanded Pawaskar’s chair as a demonstration against the poor condition of the roads. The chair was placed on the table while they carried out this act.

Sudarshan Jagdale, the Pune City President of AAP, declared that they would lock the PMC if the potholes are not filled.
