Pune, 1st October 2024: The Pune District Billiards and Snooker Association (PDBSA) has officially launched with a mission to elevate the standards of cue sports in the Pune district. With an ambitious plan to nurture talent and promote competitive play, PDBSA aims to make a significant impact on the local billiards and snooker community.

Speaking about the launch, PDBSA President Esmond Sanchez said, “We believe that by providing both competitive opportunities and quality coaching, we can significantly elevate the standards of cue sports in our district. Our vision is to create a thriving community of players who can compete at higher levels and inspire future generations.”

As part of its efforts, the Association plans to host 15 tournaments annually, offering platforms for players at all levels to showcase their skills. These tournaments will not only highlight emerging talent but also foster a sense of community and sportsmanship within Pune’s cue sports circles. Sanchez emphasized, “These events will encourage community engagement, promoting the spirit of sportsmanship and providing opportunities for all players—beginners and veterans alike.”

In addition to competitive play, PDBSA is keen on developing future champions through structured coaching programs. Aspiring billiards and snooker players will have the chance to receive expert training, honing their skills and deepening their knowledge of the game.

“We are committed to nurturing future talent by offering structured coaching programs. This will help young players improve their skills and gain a strong foundation in the sport,” Sanchez added.

The newly formed PDBSA is inviting billiards and snooker enthusiasts, from novices to advanced players, to join this initiative and contribute to building a vibrant cue sports culture in Pune.
